Browne in the Hotseat at Wexford Dinner

John Browne, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food, addressed the annual dinner of the County Wexford Sheepbreeders' Association.

Mr. Browne said that, for progressive farmers, participation in the National Genotype Programme (NGP) and selection of breeding animals that are resistant to Scrapie, "will become the norm."

The Minister said that the successful implementation of NGP "will very significantly increase the level of protection available to flockowners in Ireland against their animals contracting Scrapie and will further enhance the level of protection for consumers."
