New Scrapie Flock Register

DEFRA and the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales have announced a new initiative to recognise the scrapie resistance of sheep flocks as part of the UK's National Scrapie Plan.

The Flock Register will be open to all owners of purebred and cross bred flocks, provided all rams - and Category A ewes - have been genotype tested, electronically identified and been issued with an NSP Genotype Certificate.

This means that flocks traditionally excluded from other NSP schemes are eligible to join the Flock Register.

A NEW high profile eating venue in Cardiff is to serve only Welsh food and drink.
