Toll Free Line for MPR Questions

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has established a toll-free telephone information line that will provide information regarding the Livestock Mandatory Price Reporting (MPR) program. The telephone number is 1-800-687-7410.

The information line will provide producers with an opportunity to obtain information on how the data for the livestock they sold is used in the mandatory livestock reports, including verifying their transaction as reported. For those producers seeking to verify the reporting of a specific transaction, it will be necessary to provide complete data regarding the sale in order for the transaction to be located in the system. In addition, questions about the reports issued through this program and how to use them will be answered.

Callers will be asked to provide their name, telephone number and as much information as possible regarding their question or concern. Staff will take down the information and forward it to the appropriate person who will then return the call. If callers contact AMS during non-business hours, a voice mailbox will take the message.

The livestock MPR program is currently operating on a voluntary basis, although participating companies have agreed to adhere to audits and other program requirements.
