RE: Student Opportunities

Thank you for serving as the student liaison for the AASRP and assisting veterinary students at your college to learn more about small ruminants and the opportunities provided by the AASRP.

The Student Educational Opportunities committee recommends the Veterinary College’s Small Ruminant club routinely have their membership join the AASRP by paying the AASRP dues, a mere $15.

The fifteen-dollar ($15) membership dues provide the students with a plethora of opportunities:

• Opportunities for obtaining grant money through for educational experiences through the Student Extern Grants,

• A subscription to Wool and Wattles,

• Access to email discussion list for veterinarians and veterinary students (subscribing is easy: to subscribe [or resubscribe if you have been dropped because of email delivery problems] send the message: SUBSCRIBE AASRP-L "firstname lastname" [it is necessary to use quotes around your name] to llyris@cornell.edu) the information discussed on this list serve  is extremely valuable to your future career,

• Access to the AASRP ‘Members Only’ section of the AASRP website,

• Assistance from AASRP, and

Hopefully, you have formed an AASRP Chapter and have a student leader willing to help you distribute these materials. Perhaps there is an established computer network on which bulletins of interest to students can be posted. If nothing else, please post the information. If you are no longer the student liaison, please supply us with the new representative for small ruminants and faxing back or emailing to one of the contacts listed below:
